General & Fair Play
Philosophy, pay-to-win, auto-play, where to start.
Is Grow and Conquer pay-to-win?▼
No. Paying can save time (faster upgrades, more convenience), but it does not unlock exclusive power that free players can’t obtain. The strongest results come from deck choices, positioning, timing, and smart economy decisions.
Does Grow and Conquer have auto-battle / auto-play?▼
No. You actively play: deploy units, manage energy, position the Emperor, and use skills at the right moment. The game is designed to reward decision-making, not idle grinding.
I’m new. What should I focus on first?▼
Build economy first: start with Waves to earn gold, upgrade a few core cards, and prioritize passive gem generation through cities + Empire Income. Then push Conquest to unlock more cities and long-term income.
Where can I read guides for modes, decks, and bosses?▼
Start here: Gameplay overview explains modes, Strategy Tips covers economy + decks, Anti Pay-to-Win explains design philosophy, and Story gives lore context for the 7 worlds.
Gems, Cities & Gold
Passive gems, Empire Income, city protection, best spending.
How do I earn gems fast?▼
Best sources: (1) Cities + Empire Income skill for passive gems, (2) mission chests (often best opened in batches), (3) event rewards, and (4) efficient progression (winning consistently beats farming low-value runs).
What is Empire Income and why is it important?▼
Empire Income is a Hero skill that boosts your passive gem generation from cities. It’s one of the highest-ROI upgrades in the game because it compounds over time—smart players feel “rich” without buying gems.
Can max-level cities be invaded?▼
Max-level cities cannot be invaded. If you want stable passive income, prioritize maxing one city at a time rather than spreading upgrades thin across many cities.
What happens if I lose a city?▼
You lose that city’s passive income until you reconquer it. If you ignore daily invasions, you risk losing cities and their gem generation. Defending consistently protects your economy.
What should I spend gold on first?▼
Early priorities: upgrade a small set of core cards (your main carry + a tank + a ranged unit), and upgrade key city defenses (Gate/Barracks/Archers/Catapult) to protect income. Avoid scattering gold across too many low-impact upgrades.
Are ad offers for gold worth it?▼
If you see a good gold reward offer in the menu, it can be one of the fastest “zero-risk” boosts compared to grinding low waves. Use it when you’re upgrade-gated and need a quick push.
Modes, PvP & Bosses
Waves, Conquest, Invasions, Raids, defense deck basics.
What are the main game modes?▼
Waves (endless defense), Conquest (world map cities), Daily Invasions (defend territory), PvP Raids (attack/defend gold), and Events (limited-time rewards). Each mode asks for a different deck + strategy focus.
How do chests work in Waves mode?▼
A common pattern is earning a chest after a streak milestone (often every 7 clears). Chests are a key source of cards and progression materials—winning consistently is more valuable than endless low-level farming.
Why should I do Daily Invasions every day?▼
Daily invasions protect your territory. Skipping them can result in losing cities (and passive income). Treat invasions like “maintenance” for your economy—short fights, big consequences.
How does PvP work (Raids & Revenge)?▼
Raids are asynchronous attacks on other players’ castles for gold. If you’re raided, you typically get revenge attempts to recover losses. Strong defense decks reduce how much you lose and improve win rate over time.
Is my defense deck the same as my attack deck?▼
No. Defense and attack decks are separate. Defense decks should favor stable units that hold position (tanks, archers, zoning), while attack decks can be more aggressive to break enemy lines quickly.
What happens if my Hero (Emperor) dies in battle?▼
If your Hero falls, you lose major tactical tools (skills/pressure). Protect the Hero with positioning, tank coverage, and timing—especially during boss phases or high-speed invasion rushes.
Why are some bosses so hard?▼
Bosses often punish “one-plan” decks. Many have special damage patterns or resistances that require counterplay: better positioning, different unit mix, or focusing on survival until the right burst window.
Cards & Upgrades
Duplicates, chests, vendors, pack strategy.
How do I upgrade units (cards)?▼
You upgrade cards by collecting duplicates (from chests, packs, shop/vendor) and spending gold when you have enough copies. Upgrades are permanent and usually one of the biggest power jumps you can make.
What are the best cards to upgrade early?▼
Upgrade a small core set first: a reliable tank/frontline, a ranged DPS, and one flexible utility/assassin option. Specializing early creates win consistency, which then accelerates everything else.
Should I save mission chests or open them immediately?▼
Often saving chests and opening in batches is better when you’re ready to focus upgrades. Batch opening can help you concentrate duplicates toward the next upgrade threshold instead of scattering progress.
Who is Stanman and why does he matter?▼
Stanman is a vendor who can sell specific cards and help you target upgrades. If you can unlock more frequent access, he becomes a strategic way to finish key upgrades instead of relying only on random drops.
Are Golden Packs worth it?▼
Golden packs are commonly the “best odds” packs for rare drops compared to basic packs. If you’re spending gems, prioritize options that maximize rare card probability and align with your upgrade plan.
Account & Technical
Offline, iOS, lost progress, ads, purchases.
Can I play offline?▼
Some gameplay may function with limited connectivity, but most progression, rewards validation, events, and PvP require internet to sync your account and prevent reward duplication.
Is the game available on iOS?▼
Android is the current focus. iOS is planned. If you want a heads-up when iOS goes live, subscribe to the newsletter so you don’t miss the launch.
I lost progress after reinstalling. What should I do?▼
First, confirm you’re signed into the same account/provider you used originally (Google Play / guest / linked login). Progress loss usually happens when the game starts a fresh guest profile. If you have receipts or account identifiers, support can help recover faster.
Ads are not loading or rewards didn’t arrive—how do I fix it?▼
Try: restart the game, check connectivity, disable aggressive ad-block/VPN, and wait a few minutes (ad inventory can be empty). If the reward didn’t arrive, relaunch and check again. Persistent issues may require support with time/date + what you watched.
I purchased something but didn’t receive it. What now?▼
Restart the game and verify the purchase is completed in your store account. If it still doesn’t deliver, contact support with the order ID / receipt and your in-game identifier so the team can reconcile the transaction.
